James A. Liston and San Diego High School Students
James A. Liston entered a biplane. I have not been able to find any other information on James Liston; however, he was listed as having been a contestant and supposedly returned to San Diego to continue in aviation.
There were a group of high-school students of whom were building a plane to enter in the contest at the 1910 Los Angeles Air Meet, but did not complete it in time to get entered in the contest. They set-up on the shore at Imperial Beach and sold rides to spectators, as the home-built airplane was piloted by the students who built it.
